Who is Professor Kashuk ?

Professor Kashuk is a skilled surgeon with over 38 years experience. After completing his training in the United States, he first made Aliya to Israel in Dec, 1995. In 2000, with the outbreak of the intifada, he was called upon by Ichilov Hospital/Rabin Trauma Center, to lend his skill and experience to the care and treatment of many citizens injured in terror related trauma. In 2004, he returned to the USA for 8 years to further his academic career, and rose through the ranks, receiving the title of Professor of Surgery at Penn State University in 2010. He chose to return home to Israel with his wife Aviva and daughters Riva, Rachel, and Nechama, in 2012.
Professor Kashuk is experienced in all areas of surgery and critical care, and has contributed through international collaboration to the development of the surgical subspecialty of Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care in the United States and worldwide. As a specialist in general surgery, he routinely performs all general surgery procedures, but is particularly skilled at caring for patients with acute surgical emergencies, and those patients who require surgical critical care. His research, which has emphasized problems associated with blood coagulation after injury, has been recognized world-wide; he is the author or co-author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed articles or book chapters. As a senior member of many editorial review boards world -wide, his opinions are frequently sought after for review of the work of other colleagues, as well as medical-legal opinions.
In 2012, Professor Kashuk and his family elected to return to their home in Israel.
As a general surgeon, Professor Kashuk performs the full complement of general surgical procedures, and serves as a senior attending surgeon as part of the Assia Medical Group at Ramat Hachayal,Tel Aviv, working at both Assuta and Herzilya Medical Center. He receives private patients at Assia Medical Group, Assuta Hospital, Tel Aviv, Malcha Mall Medical Center, in Jerusalem,(including Macabi), and patients from Kupot Cholim Macabi in Bnei Brak.
